Package to Alyssa

We sent a small package to Alyssa last week - and received an email and a picture of what we sent from Ann at redthreadchina.com today.  We sent her a paint set, since she loves to draw and write, and some cookies for everyone there, and included a letter asking some questions about our newest daughter.  We also requested Ann to see if she can get some updated pics, so stay tuned!!  Here is a picture of what we sent...

Graduation!!

Today, the girls both graduated from pre-school.  They have had wonderful teachers in pre-school, and they will miss them terribly - as well as their good friend, Olivia!  Usually, by Sunday night, Emma is saying how she misses her friend Olivia.  They bonded on the very first day of school, and have been best friends all year.  We will have to try to get them together over the summer!!  Here are some pictures from their big day...

Local Colors and a Hair Do

On Saturday, we took the girls downtown to the 20th Annual Local Colors Festival.  I believe there were 94 countries represented!!  Amazing, the number of different nationalities that live locally!  A very diverse community, indeed!  The girls really enjoyed it, and so did we!  I hate that I left my camera at home!

After lunch, we had haircuts, and the sweet girl who cuts the girls, fixed them up so cute!  She put curls in their pony tails, and little jewels in the front of their hair!  They looked so cute!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was a wonderful day!  We had both our moms at church, and my grandma as well!  After church, we and Bobby's sister and fixed lunch for our families to be able to spend the whole afternoon together, enjoying each other's company, and the warm weather.  Spending time together is the best gift there is on any day, but especially on Mother's Day!

Fundraising to Bring Alyssa Home

An Amazing Christian family has such a wonderful, and uplifting blog, and they do something called CRAZY LOVE - they have huge hearts for orphans - check out their blog, and the CRAZY LOVE post HERE.   We have several fundraising things going on now to help us to raise the funds needed to get our third sweethert home from China.  We are in the paperchase, with our last home study visits done this week, and waiting on the FBI fingerprint clearance so we can get our final copies then it's off to immigration!!

We have been baking like CRAZY, making pound cakes and pies, and have made enough with that to cover our home study, and our immigration and USCIS fingerprinting fees!! - God has sent a wonderful number of people to place orders!  We have been baking pretty much every night for about a month now.  We are working on organizing a yard sale, as well as a give away of a beautiful Ridgeway Waterfall Clock - It is still in the box - it was my gift for 25 years service with the company I work for, and I can think of no better use for it than to help us to raise some of the funds we need to bring our daughter home.  With that said, we have added a "Chip In" and a picture of the clock to our blog.  It is at the very top, right hand side.

We have also set up an account with The Shepherd's Crook, a wonderful organization who helps families raise money through a tax deductible account set up in the child's name.  There are two ways to contribute:  by mailing a check,  to The Shepherd's Crook Ministries, PO Box 773, West Chester,  OH 45071, and putting our daughter's name in the memo line of your check, or by an on-line contribution, which can be made at:  www.theshepherdscrook.org/donate/now and typing our daugher's name in the designate field:  The name for either the memo line, or designate field on line is Alyssa Hope Jiang Bishop.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have donated, and who will continue to help us to bring our little girl home!!  God's blessings to you all!!

Last Home Study Visit!

We had our last home study visit last night (at least last BEFORE Alyssa comes home) - we have a great agency!  Deanne is helpful, very much concerned about your family and how everyone will be affected by adding to your family, and, loves that families can be made or increased by the gift of adoption - just as our Father in heaven wants to adopt every single one of us!!  How amazing it is that He allows us to experience just a hint of what He wants for us - every day, I am thankful for my family!  I am thankful that I have been adopted and can live forever in Heaven with Him!

Now, we are just waiting on our FBI fingerprints to be done, and our home study can be finished and off to immigration for approval!!

Our Annual Trip to the Strawberry Festival

On Saturday, we spent the afternoon with our  friends, the Bishops, at the annual Strawberry Festival.  The girls had a great time playing together, getting faces painted, getting balloon animals, playing in the bubbles, and eating strawberries.
