Sunday Smiles

The girls were so tired this morning, it was tough to get them ready for Sunday School and Church -they finally got moving, though!  After church, since the weather was a little warmer, we took them outside to try their tricycles/big wheels to see how they did - they loved them, but got cold, and didn't want to stay out long...

Christmas at PaPa Charlie's and Grandma Peggy's

On Saturday afternoon, we headed to PaPa Charlie's and Grandma Peggy's house for Christmas - we had great food, and spent great time with family!  The girls got princess packs - sleeping bags, eye covers, and night lights - they loved them and had a great time playing with them, among games of "go fish" and "tickle the girls."

Ho Ho Ho - Christmas Day

Christmas morning, the girls were so excited to see all the wonderful new toys Santa had brought!  They got Dora big wheels, a Snow White "cabin," sleeping bags, tons of new games, puzzles, paints - too much to remember!  After Santa at home, we went to Grandma's & PaPa's again to open presents.  We had wonderful breakfast with family, and had a great time visiting, exchanging gifts, and playing!  At Grandma and PaPa's, they got tricycles, which really made them happy - that was what they had asked for from Santa.  Aunt Gloria and Uncle Larry got the girls a Kai Lan tent - they loved that too!  It's like their own little world - they get in with blankets, pillows, toys, and have a blast!  We had to get home by 1:00 to cook Christmas dinner - my family was coming over for dinner and to exchange gifts too - busy day!!  Anyway, the girls got tons more things - toys, clothes, shoes - and had lots of fun opening them - I think they just liked tearing the paper off.  Dinner was good, everyone was really pleased with their gifts, and we had a great time just being able to spend a relaxing evening together.  The girls have played and played, and played some more - it's been midnight before they have gone to sleep the past couple of days!

Christmas Eve

We went over to Grandma's & PaPa's to visit on Christmas Eve - Aunt Lurie was there & gave us a great present - Thanks Aunt Laurie!!  We love it!  The girls also had fun "doing" their 16 year old cousin's hair!  Poor Rebekah - she was a good sport though!

Fun in the snow, and gingerbread houses

The snow might have melted a little, so we decided to take the girls out to play for a bit - it was way too deep for them, but they loved it!  Even little Emma - she had to walk where someone else already had because it was so deep, but she had a great time!

After snow play, we made a gingerbread house - that was fun, and the girls had a good time decorating it...I don't think it looked quite like the picture on the box, though!

Pre-School Christmas Program 2009

The girls had their Pre-School Christmas program on Friday.  They were so cute!!  The kids had learned lots of sweet Christmas songs, and they sang and played the jingle-bells for us.  Afterward, we had a fellowship with the kids and parents, and the children got to exchange gifts.  Everyone had a great time!  Here are a few pics from the days event...

After a wonderful musical by our adult choir this morning, we took the girls to Hotel Roanoke to see all the Christmas trees.  We got some really great pics of the girls...

FCC Merry Christmas!!

Tonight, our local FCC group celebrated fun and fellowship together at our annual Christmas party.  The kids played, everyone ate, the kids made a wreath ornament to decorate their trees, and we collected a good deal of donations to send to Love Without Boundaries to help children in need of medical attention in China.  It is great to see so many children here with families, with opportunities they would never have had if they had not come home to their forever families - opportunity to have the love and snuggles every child deserves; to learn and know of the love that Jesus has for them, to be able to choose to be His child; opportunities for support, for encouragement, for education, the list goes on and on.  And, what blessings these kids are to their families too - the giggles, the laughter, even the disagreements - all in love, all in family - nothing more precious!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a great Thanksgiving with family - but missed mine (Regina's) - they couldn't come.  The girls looked so cute, and all Bobby's family made it except his brother, and two step-brothers families.  We had way too much food, great fellowship, and the kids had a great time!  Allie and Emma and Maria made jewelry from Allie's PopBeads she got for her birthday - we all had necklaces, bracelets, rings, too much fun!

We hope you all had as wonderful a day as we did, and reflected on all that you have to be thankful for!!

Our First School Program

The girls had their first school program on Tuesday this week, and it was so cute!!  They had made pasta necklaces, and pilgrim and indian hats, and dressed up, and sang all the songs that they have learned - so precious!  This age is so much fun!  Here are a few pics - they turned out a little dark, though...

Thankful Thursday

Allie & Emma sang a song tonight about "Thankful for my family" and made me think about how thankful we should be - for a Father in Heaven who died for us so we can live on and on!  We are so thankful that our boys know the Lord, and that one day both girls will accept Him into their hearts too - we know He has big plans for all of them, and can't wait to find out what they are!!

We truly have much to be thankful for this year!

Sunday Smiles

Allie is healing really well!  Her appointment at the clinic Thursday was great!  The doctor said to give it a month, and start to massage her lip, and that would help the healing and muscle tone.  The girls just love each other so much!  Tonight, Emma went to the grocery store with me, and Allie stayed home with Bobby.  When we got back, you would have thought we had been gone for days - the girls just hugged each other, and held hands - they are so cute together!

On another cute note, Josh is dating a sweet girl named Jessica who has a beautiful 16 month old little boy.  I have included a pic of them after church today too in our slide show...

Sunday Smiles

Allie is really healing well!  The steri-strips came off yesterday, and she's still a little swollen and bruised, but she looks so cute!  Here are a few pics from Saturday and today, days 10 and 11 post op, and just some pics of  two sweet, lovey sisters...
