Our busy week

Allie continues to recover from her dental surgery, and is doing great! She had her follow-up appointment Friday, and other than her gums being a little swollen she's back to normal.

The first picture is from last weekend when Allie was napping - I just couldn't resist that sweet face! Others are from the circus Friday night - the girls loved it, and had a great time. They had their picture made with Sponge Bob, Mickey Mouse, and other characters too, and enjoyed all the different acts.

The last few are breakfast this morning, and some of them playing doctor. They use the clothes basket as the "sick bed" and take care of each other - they are so darn cute playing together!!

Bobby's aunt fell and broke her hip this week, and had surgery yesterday. She is doing pretty well, but please pray for her recovery to be fast - she is in her
mis-80s, and can use our prayers.

Sunday Smiles and Such

In Sunday School today, the girls learned about Jacob, and how God loved and cared for him, and took care of him - their Sunday School teachers are just wonderful, and do a great job with all the little ones!! We are very blessed to be in our wonderful church and have such a great church family.

Our girls are loved by our entire Church, and they love going to Church and to Sunday School - that's what it is all about - teaching the children so they reach out to Jesus and ask Him to be their Savior, and becoming disciples for Him, reaching out to others.

Here are a few pics from this morning before Church, and playing in their room this afternoon...

Happy Birthday Emma!!

I can't believe she's 3 already! Time is flying by so fast, and she is growing up. Emma is a sweetie, and such a joy! We are blessed beyond words to be her parents. Since the Chinese New Year's celebration was today, on Emma's actual birthday, we just had cake (of course, she picked a princess - Snow White) and ice cream with family after our FCC luncheon.

She wants to go to Chuck E Cheese, so we will do that with friends sometime this week or next, depending on Bobby's schedule. Enjoy a few pics of the girls! We also had some of the Jasmine Tea we bought in China in our Chinese teapot and cups - we love it, and so do the girls...

Chinese New Years - the year of the OX

The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.

Today, our local Families with Children from China celebrated Chinese New Year's. All the children were dressed in their Chinese outfits, and were adorable. Pearl Fu was there, and explained Chinese New Year's, and how it is celebrated in China, and, the children got to learn the dragon dance - we all had a great time!!

Our busy week

This week was busy! The girls played and played together, and on Wednesday, Allie had dental surgery - poor baby!! She had 3 teeth pulled, 4 root canals, 9 silver crowns, 3 tooth colored fillings, teeth cleaned, and X-rays done. She was a trooper, though, and was back to herself that night. Aunt Gloria gave them the cutest cover-ups! They have princess tiara's on the top that blink, and they are so cute with them on!!

The girls have been dancing together, singing, and just having a great time!!

Sunday Smiles and Such

Well, this week, the girls have just played and played. They get along better all the time. We had been having a few behavioral problems with Allie, but the last few days, she has been much better, and, all smiles! It has been 17 months since Emma joined our family, and, already 6 months since we've had our sweet Allie home - time is flying!!

Allie is learning more English every day, and we can understand pretty much everything she says now. When we can't, Emma interprets - too funny!! Emma knows her ABCs, can count to 20, knows how to write her first name, and knows her full name and address, and all our first names too - she amazes us every day with the things she says - she talks like a grown up!

In the pics below, the girls are pretending to be asleep in their Dora chairs - they raised their heads up and asked me to take their picture. I guess they are used to us taking them all the time, they figure, "if I can't beat 'em, I'll join 'em!"

Last night, Emma wanted her hair up in piggy tails, and so Allie had to have hers done too. I was pretty surpised, but hers has now grown long enough to have the "water spouts" on top, so we made her two of them too - she loved it, and thought she looked so pretty!

The last couple are just before church this morning - we always try to get a picture of the two of them on Sunday before church.

A good week!!

Praise the Lord, Emma's ear infection is gone, and Allie's cold is history too!! Both girls had been a little under the weather since Christmas. After 2 visits to the doctor, they are now well, and back to being themselves. This week, they've been doctoring on each other. See the pics of Allie in the laundry basket (bed) and Emma checking her out - too cute! Allie decided to try on BaBa's shoes this week to see how they fit - see for yourself!!

I love the ones of BaBa and his girls together too!! Then, of course, we have pics in their dresses before church today, and at the mall riding the little rides, then Emma's 'Got Milk?' picture...

Please pray this week and next. Allie goes for a pre-op check up Monday, then, on Wedneday, the 21st, she has her dental surgery. Pretty much every tooth will have something done to it-a few pulled, a few filled, a few capped, and the rest will be sealed to protectt them. The orphanage must not have used toothbrushes on her!!

Please pray for Abby

Please pray for this little girl, adopted at 6 months of age from Guatemala. Go here to read the story of incredible faith that this family has, & add them to every prayer list you know of!! http://www.riggsfamilyblog.com/2008/07/please-pray-for-abby.html

It is Official!

This morning, Josh was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff. All of us went to the courthouse to see him take his oath. We are so proud of the young man he has become. I can't believe he is so grown up! Here are some pictures from the morning...
