Sunday Smiles

The girls were so tired this morning, it was tough to get them ready for Sunday School and Church -they finally got moving, though!  After church, since the weather was a little warmer, we took them outside to try their tricycles/big wheels to see how they did - they loved them, but got cold, and didn't want to stay out long...

Christmas at PaPa Charlie's and Grandma Peggy's

On Saturday afternoon, we headed to PaPa Charlie's and Grandma Peggy's house for Christmas - we had great food, and spent great time with family!  The girls got princess packs - sleeping bags, eye covers, and night lights - they loved them and had a great time playing with them, among games of "go fish" and "tickle the girls."

Ho Ho Ho - Christmas Day

Christmas morning, the girls were so excited to see all the wonderful new toys Santa had brought!  They got Dora big wheels, a Snow White "cabin," sleeping bags, tons of new games, puzzles, paints - too much to remember!  After Santa at home, we went to Grandma's & PaPa's again to open presents.  We had wonderful breakfast with family, and had a great time visiting, exchanging gifts, and playing!  At Grandma and PaPa's, they got tricycles, which really made them happy - that was what they had asked for from Santa.  Aunt Gloria and Uncle Larry got the girls a Kai Lan tent - they loved that too!  It's like their own little world - they get in with blankets, pillows, toys, and have a blast!  We had to get home by 1:00 to cook Christmas dinner - my family was coming over for dinner and to exchange gifts too - busy day!!  Anyway, the girls got tons more things - toys, clothes, shoes - and had lots of fun opening them - I think they just liked tearing the paper off.  Dinner was good, everyone was really pleased with their gifts, and we had a great time just being able to spend a relaxing evening together.  The girls have played and played, and played some more - it's been midnight before they have gone to sleep the past couple of days!

Christmas Eve

We went over to Grandma's & PaPa's to visit on Christmas Eve - Aunt Lurie was there & gave us a great present - Thanks Aunt Laurie!!  We love it!  The girls also had fun "doing" their 16 year old cousin's hair!  Poor Rebekah - she was a good sport though!

Fun in the snow, and gingerbread houses

The snow might have melted a little, so we decided to take the girls out to play for a bit - it was way too deep for them, but they loved it!  Even little Emma - she had to walk where someone else already had because it was so deep, but she had a great time!

After snow play, we made a gingerbread house - that was fun, and the girls had a good time decorating it...I don't think it looked quite like the picture on the box, though!

Pre-School Christmas Program 2009

The girls had their Pre-School Christmas program on Friday.  They were so cute!!  The kids had learned lots of sweet Christmas songs, and they sang and played the jingle-bells for us.  Afterward, we had a fellowship with the kids and parents, and the children got to exchange gifts.  Everyone had a great time!  Here are a few pics from the days event...

After a wonderful musical by our adult choir this morning, we took the girls to Hotel Roanoke to see all the Christmas trees.  We got some really great pics of the girls...

FCC Merry Christmas!!

Tonight, our local FCC group celebrated fun and fellowship together at our annual Christmas party.  The kids played, everyone ate, the kids made a wreath ornament to decorate their trees, and we collected a good deal of donations to send to Love Without Boundaries to help children in need of medical attention in China.  It is great to see so many children here with families, with opportunities they would never have had if they had not come home to their forever families - opportunity to have the love and snuggles every child deserves; to learn and know of the love that Jesus has for them, to be able to choose to be His child; opportunities for support, for encouragement, for education, the list goes on and on.  And, what blessings these kids are to their families too - the giggles, the laughter, even the disagreements - all in love, all in family - nothing more precious!!
